Ashenlight
Sharmindrila
Have you ever cried so hard that you thought you’d die gasping?
When every breath feels like a battle, a struggle against a tide
Your chest tightens, heart pounds, each sob a knife twisting inside
Tears spill, unchecked, a torrential flood from eyes
That have seen too much, felt too deeply, wear the scars of life’s lies
Have you ever curled up, a trembling shell, hollowed out by sorrow?
When shadows whisper all your fears, stealing hope for tomorrow
Your soul feels heavy, a weight too vast to bear alone
Every whispered comfort feels distant, like an echo of a home
You once knew, a place where joy was not a stranger
Have you ever felt the world collapse in the silence of your room?
Where grief’s cold hands clasp tight, pulling you deeper into gloom
Your voice breaks, a fragile thing, lost in the tempest of your pain
And all you crave is solace, a brief respite from the rain
That pours relentlessly, drenching your spirit in despair
Yet, in those moments, raw and real, you find a flicker of light
A quiet strength within, a flame that refuses to die
You rise, slowly, from the ashes, breathing life into your fight
For even in the darkest night, the dawn will come, and you will fly.
